Medical Clinic Software IT Related Issue....Need To Keep And Old Program After Format !?

IT related issue....Need to keep and old program after format !? - medical clinic software

Okay, so in my work ....

One of our clinics are used to an old program of patient data and not use something. They still need to access some of these documents from time to time .... but only rarely.

We now have a new program.

Anyway, I reformat the computer program using the old software, but I still can not access patient information ... Access to the program.

The problem is that no installation CD! The old program seems to cost about $ 6000 ........ and e-mail the company and said that our support contract expires, and $ 1200 for the renewal. Arent we pay for that much for a program that will only be used.

What options do I have?

I thought the image of unity and the creation of a dual-boot ....... work would it? Which program should I use?

Ugh, I can not to be envied.

You can use Norton Ghost to create an image, but if you want to use, it has to go to install this image on a computer. I do not think VMWare will install a picture of the creation of an existing local, but may be wrong.

That's what I would do. For simplicity, I will take over the old program, as ABC:
1) Get another computer
2) Find the ABC is installed on the old computer. Probably C: \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ Program Files \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ ABC, but can you for certain, right-click the shortcut who know, ABC launches
3) Use this trick on the new computer. ABC started.
3.5) If ABC is old, it is likely that stores its data in a directory from step 2, in addition to the executable. However, the jump in "My Documents" for all cases.
Run regedit 4) on the old computer (Start -> Run -> regedit). Be careful, because you can really hose things. An observation and research for ABC. Everything you see, take note of the full path to the key and value, and believe in the new computer.
4.5) If the name of third parties, etc., which was written for ABC (ABC, from a company called XYZ), repeat step 4 for each of these names and words are important.
5) Now try, the CBA will be carried out in the new computer. When complaints about a missing dll, get the old computer and copy it to the new computer in the same directory that was in the old computer. The program "Dependency Walker" can help you - is a free download, just Google.

Not be satisfied that you have until the CBA has done everything that made his features on the new computer was. However, you may want to create a ghost image of the old computer just in case. Probably should be for every file and registry entries that are written, you copied. Now you can restart the old computer, and repeat these steps to the ABC will be formatted and transmitted in the new computer to the new "old".
